"Daily, Get alone with the Lord."
I’ve been think about this sacred space.
This space where I start the day with the Lord.
Where I sit and absorb His presences, listen and be with Him.
Tune my ear to hear and train my heart to know,
It’s in the quiet where I zero in on Him.
Where I invite Him into my day.
It’s also where I ask Him the questions I’m wresting with.
After about 1 year of the early before the sunrise call time to meet with the Lord it’s become a lifeline, a time of great necessity and value for me. It’s also become something I look forward to and even anticipate. A place of settling into connecting with my Creator —no pressure, nothing fancy just one on one being with Him. To be honest I don’t always come away with some really significant thing He said to me, or something in scripture that popped out. I just commit to the “being” part abiding in Him and leave the rest up to God to lean in and communicate. It’s this tuning our ear into the Kingdom that with practice and good rhythms of remaining in Him. (John 15)
Reminds me of this quote from a Pastor I follow in New York City;
“You prioritize what you love, You build your life around what you love
And if you love Jesus—you’ll build your life around spending time with Him.” Jon Tyson
Just to simply start creating intentional space to connect with Him will serve you the rest of your life. I’d encourage you if you don’t have a rhythm try to find and intentional quiet space to meet with Him.
This song “Be with me” by Bryan & Katie Torwalt really encourages this as well.
